    Met friends here we wanted to try it. They do need to update their online menu as they do not have hush puppies. The gumbo was ok I wouldn't order it again nor would I order the bengiets again. The shrimp po boy fish tacos and shrimp n chips were good. The staff wasn't real friendly but I went for the food not employees.

    I'm a sucker for good Gumbo! I was in the area with a friend and we stopped by for lunch and a drink. I knew I was going to get the gumbo but I honestly wasn't expecting much. I was pleasantly surprised! It is a small open seating type of situation so you'll get to know your neighbor and the ambiance is fun. Bathroom may have a wait to it too. But the food is excellent! My bowl was very rich in flavor (not just salty) and it had a small ball of rice with sausage, shrimp, chicken and okra. All the necessary good for a great bowl of gumbo! I could've used a little bit of extra rice but maybe that's due to my cultural leanings lol. Wash it all down with your favorite bar beverage and your good to go for more adventures in SF. The location is literally in the middle of the Embarcadero, it is tourist central lol. However if you are about to take the ferry, go to fisherman's wharf or go to the ferry building I would check it out! Enjoy!

    I was recommended this place with high praise for their Gumbo and I am definitely following the hype! An order of Gumbo comes with a tiny pile of rice and lots of soupy goodness full of sausage, crawfish, chicken, and bits of okra. Since the broth is so savory/salty, I wish there were more rice! That's my only complaint. My personal recommendation is the Fried Catfish Plate! Oh myyy gooodnesssss. Milky tender catfish with a crispy cornmeal batter outside? I was in heaven! The fries are on the soggy side, but contrast the fried fish well. Definitely gotta dunk it in some tartar sauce and chase it down with a mimosa. With a view of Coit Tower and Alcatraz, this is truly a hidden gem slapped in the middle of Pier 39 and the Ferry Building. If you are in the area, you need to check it out!
